LIZHIWAN RIVER

An old saying reminds us that not long ago, Guangzhou was a city with numerous waterways and canals, with a rich culture developed along the banks of the Pearl River and which for centuries made up much of the city’s charm. The municipal government has recently completed a large renovation campaign to uncover one of these canals. With an abundance of trees, numerous shops, restaurants, old buildings, cultural and art museums, Lizhiwan River is a major attraction in Guangzhou.
